Why I Believe in The Table

A Word From Jaylee Cunningham

Years ago in graduate school, one of my professors asked us to write about a person of profound character.

I wrote about my husband.

My professor was genuinely surprised. He later told me no one had ever chosen their spouse for the assignment before.

But for me, the answer was obvious.

The person of greatest character I had ever known was Terry.

My husband is a man of deep conviction, compassion, intentionality, and integrity. He listens carefully. He studies deeply. He builds patiently.

Even as a young boy, he would stay up late reading his Bible beside a small nightlight.

You can still see that same hunger for God in him today.

Terry does not simply love the idea of leadership. He loves responsibility. He loves stewardship. He loves building strong foundations inside people.

And over the years, I have watched him help men overcome fear, passivity, confusion, pride, isolation, and uncertainty about marriage and family life.

I have watched him help men move from hesitation into intentionality.

Marriage was not always something he desired early in life. But when God began shaping his understanding of covenant, leadership, and legacy, he became deeply passionate about building a godly marriage and family.

That passion never left him.

Today, he sees marriage not merely as a relationship milestone, but as one of the greatest acts of service and servanthood within the Kingdom of God.

As his wife, I can say honestly that Terry is a multiplier of godly husbands.

The conversations he carries, the wisdom he gives, and the framework he is building through The Table are needed in this generation.

Marriage has been one of the greatest gifts God has ever given me.

Not simply because of companionship, but because covenant has formed me, strengthened me, refined me, and expanded my capacity to carry what God placed inside of me.

I believe strong marriages build strong families.
Strong families build strong communities.
And strong men help create both.

That is why I believe in The Table.
